Central State Beauty and Wellness College, Oklahoma City:

Beauty / Health & Wellness Training Programs:

Basic Cosmetology Program:
Course Duration: 1500 clock hours. Both full-time and part-time classes are available.

Designed to prepare you for an entry-level career as a Licensed Cosmetologist, this comprehensive program covers all phases of cosmetology. It aims to equip you with the skills you need, and prepares you to pass the State Board Examination.

Graduates of this program will have demonstrated all required competencies that are part of the State Board Examination. Our approach to training is based on sound teaching fundamentals and educational principles.


Esthetician Training Program:
Course Duration: 740 clock hours

The field of esthetics involves studying skin care, cosmetic products, and hair removal. Designed to prepare you to gain entry-level employment in the cosmetology field, this comprehensive program provides you with skills in skin analysis, facials, cosmetic applications, basic massage, and light therapy.

Once you have completed the program, you will be eligible to sit the State Board examination for an Esthetician license.


Cosmetology Instructor Training:
Course Duration: 1000 clock hours

Once you have successfully completed our Cosmetology Instructor curriculum, you will be awarded a certificate and be eligible to sit for the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology examination for an Instructor License.

After you have attained, an Instructor License, you will be eligible for an entry level position in cosmetology related fields.


Advanced Therapeutic Massage
Course Duration: 1120 clock hours / 41.50 credit hours

Designed to prepare you for entry-level positions in the Massage and Spa industry, this massage therapy program is ideal for those who wish to practice in a massage clinic or spa setting.

Our comprehensive curriculum provides a strong foundation of clinic management theory and procedures. You will receive instruction in client assessment, as well as advanced treatment protocols such as therapeutic deep tissue massage, trigger point technique, and myo-fascial release.

You will also learn allied therapeutic modalities needed to succeed in an advanced clinic setting. There is an emphasis in all lab / clinic work on Physiology, Anatomy, and Pathology, as well as business and spa management procedures.


Medical Assistant Program
Course Duration: 950 clock hours / 33.50 credit hours

This program aims to develop administrative and clinical skills, preparing you for entry-level positions at physician offices, clinics, and hospitals. On graduation, you will be prepared to function effectively as an integral member of the physician's health care team. 

You will receive extensive training in body structure and the functions of the various body systems, which includes developing a working knowledge of specimen collection and various laboratory procedures to include EKG, infection control, injections, and sterilization.

In addition, you will learn proper techniques in preparation of patients for diagnostic tests, and assisting in minor surgical procedures.

Once you have graduated successfully, you will be eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Personnel (AAMP) Registered Medical Assistant and Registered Phlebotomist national exams.
