Convent of the Sacred Heart, located in Greenwich, Connecticut (29 minutes from Grand Central Station, New York City), is a private, accredited, Catholic, college preparatory day school for girls from preschool through grade 12. It is privately operated within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport. Since our School’s founding in 1848, Sacred Heart has educated young women to become leaders and play transformative roles in society. Our accomplished alumnae are testimony to the commitment of our distinguished faculty, who embody the mission of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, our School’s foundress and who established the Society of the Sacred Heart.
Convent of the Sacred Heart is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is approved by the Connecticut State Board of Education. We are also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools and the Network of Sacred Heart Schools in the United States.
About Convent of the Sacred Heart:
In 1818, St. Philippine Duchesne led a group of five French-speaking Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJs) to the New World and started the first free school for girls west of the Mississippi River. Thirty years later in 1848, on Bleecker Street in Manhattan, Mother Aloysia Hardey, rscj founded our School, Convent of the Sacred Heart. In 1904, the School moved to Maplehurst in the Bronx, and in 1945 moved to its present location in Greenwich, the former Overlook Farm Estate, to accommodate a growing student body. Since then the School has continued its 161-year-old tradition of educating young women to learn and to lead. We currently enroll approximately 777 girls, and are part of the Network of Schools of the Sacred Heart, all of which are committed to a set of principles known as the Goals & Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools.

Notre Dame High School is a college preparatory school for boys in grades 9-12 located in West Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. Established in 1964, Montessori School of Greater Hartford is an independent, Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) school located in West Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut offering toddler, primary, elementary, morning and afterschool care, recess and vacation programs. Drawing from its home base and from more than 30 surrounding towns, MSGH welcomes a diverse community of more than 170 children ages 15 months to 12 years to its doors every school day. Our curriculum for primary students is organized into five major subject areas designated “practical life,” “sensorial,” “language,” “mathematics,” and “culture” which are filled with hands-on, didactic materials corresponding to each subject. All Nations Christian Academy, located in New Haven, Connecticut (80 miles from NYC), is a small private Christian elementary school that offers an accelerated learning program and evangelical Christian foundation for students in grade K - 4th grade.
