Language Institute of Georgia based in Atlanta offers classes in Spanish and German using Graded Reader Method. We use Graded Readers as learning tool. Our focus is on building a good command of the structure of the target language. When you speak, you have to respond to your speaking partner and build sentences fast. You can not do this unless your mind is thoroughly integrated with the language. There are no short cuts to learning a language. If you spend few hours each week, you can be functional in the target language in about one year.

Spanish Programs:
The only reason we speak a language is to express ourselves. Self expression of an adult requires a vocabulary of at least 2000 words and a very good understanding of the structure of the target language. Speaking that is not geared towards self-expression is mimicry and is not very conducive to building a connection with the language.

When we are speaking, we have to recall the correct structure and the right set of words to build a sentence which expresses our thought or feeling. Our ability to recall depends on retention. Retention again depends on repeated input. We put a lot of emphasis on input because your ability to speak a foreign language depends on it.

With our basic Spanish course you will acquire a vocabulary of 400 words and a good overall understanding of the Spanish grammar. Our intermediate Spanish courses progressively improve grammar and vocabulary. We also offer conversational Spanish for advanced students. Each class is six weeks long and meets for two and a half hours once a week. Our course material is the most modern and comprehensive you will find. We use graded readers published by University of Salamanca.

Basic Spanish:
Covers present, past and present perfect. Builds a vocabulary of 400 words.

Intermediate Spanish 1:
Covers preterite, pluperfect, future tense. Builds a vocabulary of 700 words.

Intermediate Spanish 2:
Covers all tenses and subjunctive. Builds a vocabulary of 1000 words.

Intermediate Spanish 2:
Expands vocabulary to 1500 words and reinforces grammar.

English for Internationals (EFI) is an ACCET accredited adult ESL school located in the safest and most affluent area of the Atlanta metropolitan area in the state of Georgia. EFI is recognized as having a stellar reputation for quality education. The current enrollment is 400 full and part-time international students.

Students consider EFI to be their "home away from home." EFI offers programs of 18, 22 or 30 hours per week. Free One on One Tutoring: Each I-20 student is offered 4 to 5 free tutoring sessions with the Director or an instructor. These sessions allow students to concentrate on specific pronunciation and speech difficulties. Mastery of English Program: This program provided additional English language skills for students in the US business and academic world.
