The IFS offers German language courses of the highest quality in two of Germany's most important cities. Since 1978, the IFS has been teaching in the former capital of Bonn and, since the year 2000, in the new capital of Berlin as well. In 2000, the IFS began to offer its full programme of German as a foreign language (DaF) courses in Berlin as well as in Bonn. A representative school building from the turn of the century, set in a safe, park-like area, is home to the Institute, located in the middle of Berlin and still a peaceful place to study. Language students find modern, cheerful classrooms and ad-vanced computer facilities. Exhibitions and multicultural events make the IFS Berlin a popular meeting point for native and visiting „Berliners“. The school is just a 10-minute walk from Potsdamer Platz. Excellent public transport connections provide quick and easy access to all the important places in Berlin.
German courses include: Intensive, Intensive TestDaF, Intensive "SUPER", Intensive "COMBI", Business, Individual, Evening course for professionals, Conversation, Phonetics, Grammar.
All IFS German language courses prepare students for Goethe-Institute examinations (ZD, ZMP, ZOP, KDS, GDS) and for the entrance exam required by Germany’s universities. Personal coaching sessions ensure that students are perfectly prepared for their exams. Students completing a course stage receive an attendance certificate, while the IFS-Certificate is awarded for completion of the basic or intermediary stage. This generally qualifies students for admission to the DSH (university entrance exam), for attendance of the preparatory Studienkolleg as well as for German language courses which Germany’s higher education institutions offer.
