Our Lady of Grace Catholic School:
Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a private Catholic school offering programs from Pre-K through Grade 8. At the heart of our curriculum is the study of our Catholic Faith. Because Religion is the very reason for our existence it would follow that a focal point of this information is the course of study offered in our Religion classes. In all other areas of the curriculum, the Diocese of Charlotte aligns itself with the Standard Course of Study as outlined by the State of North Carolina.
Pre-K Program:
Our Lady of Grace School is proud to offer a 4-year-old (and young 5's) Pre-K program to children who will be four years old by August 31st of the year enrolled. The program operates from 8:10 AM - 12:10 PM, Monday through Friday in accordance with OLG's school calendar. The Pre-K class will follow best practices in alignment with the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. The Creative Curriculum will be used to develop a classroom of differentiated instruction based on continual observation and interaction with each child. The curriculum and teaching method will foster cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual growth through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities. The children will have an opportunity to participate in enrichment classes in Spanish, music, art, gym, computer, and library skills. They will receive daily religious instruction and will take monthly field trips which will enhance connections to the classroom unit of study. Pre-K children will be screened for Pre-K readiness by the ABC Educational Services in the spring of the year preceding their enrollment.
