ISB International School of Barcelona:
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF BARCELONA (ISB) is located in a residential area overlooking the town of Sitges, around 39km south of Barcelona. ISB offers a balanced and wide curriculum with an international outlook. We offer our students integration in the diverse and rich society that surrounds them. They will have an opportunity to become familiar with different languages and cultures. This will give them a wider vision in order to study subjects with more than one perspective and, in this way they will develop morally, culturally, mentally and physically.

Early Childhood, Primary & Secondary Education for Children Ages 1-18:
The educational programme offered to students is a unique programme covering ages from 1 to 18 based on the British International programme. The programme endeavours to create a dignified learning environment that offers an international education, incorporating aspects of the diverse cultures represented within our school community.

Within this process, students are expected to be active and responsible participants. They are encouraged to think critically and constructively, preparing them to successfully face the many challenges and experiences of this ever-changing world. 

ECU (Early Childhood Unit) - Ages 1-4:
The ECU study programme, which is taught in English, is structured in six learning areas, allowing us to plan and implement a well-structured, motivating programme for young kids. The goal is to develop each child's cognitive, physical, artistic, social and emotional skills to their maximum potential. There are 6 Learning and Development areas:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Creative Development
- Physical Development

Primary School Programme - Ages 5-11:
Our primary school programme, which is taught in English, is continually up-dated, refined and improved in response to students' needs in each year.

Languages:
- English (principal language); Spanish classes; Catalan classes
Mathematics:
- Numeracy

Science:
- Science; ICT

Social Studies:
- History; Geography; PSHE

Arts:
- Art; Design-Technology; Music

Physical development:
- Tennis; Swimming; Physical education

Secondary School Programme - Ages 11-16:
The secondary programme, which is taught in English, provides a framework of academic challenges that encourage students to embrace and understand the connections between school and the real world. Our study programme sets out the stages, core subjects and optional subjects offered to students during each stage.

Key Stage 3 (Ages 11-14)
This programme takes students through three years of their education. There is a transition period to enable students to integrate easily to the Cambridge University International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

Key Stage 4 (Ages 14-16)
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world's most widely recognised international qualification. This provides excellent progression to the next stage (International Baccalaureate, A-Level or Spanish system).

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme - Ages 16-18
IBDP programme, for students aged 16 to 19, is an academically challenging and balanced programme of educaon with final examinaons that prepares students for success at University and in life beyond.

IBDP programme:
• Has a strong international dimension
• draws on content from educaonal cultures around the world
• requires study across a broad range of subjects
• includes both individual subjects and transdisciplinary areas
• gives special emphasis to learning languages
• focuses on developing the skills of learning
• provides opportunies for individual and collaborave planning and research
• encourages students to become responsible members of their community.

Summer Camp:
The Summer courses, for children aged 2-16 include a wide programme of activities which vary depending on the course chosen, giving special attention to learning and practicing English. The sessions are held in July and include excursions to the museums, natural environments, leisure centres for children and various sports activities.
