Image of Worth School, Turners Hill Worth School:
Worth School is a Benedictine (Catholic) independent co-educational day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11-18. The school is situated in Turners Hill, on 500 acres of beautiful land in rural West Sussex, in South East England, only 50 km from London and 12 km from Gatwick Airport. At Worth, we see our pupils as 'Lanterns to Light'. Inspiring pupils to think, learn, create, imagine and perform is crucial if each individual is to develop their intellectual potential. Pupils are not merely taught what they need to know but, much more importantly, how to learn.

Academic Excellence is achieved primarily by excellent teaching and also by the application of new approaches to learning and a variety of exciting opportunities in which to discover and learn. A major strength of the school is the broad curriculum and the all-round education that pupils enjoy. Worth is proud to offer the International Baccalaureate alongside the traditional A Level curriculum, so that Sixth Form pupils can have as wide a choice as possible in the type of curriculum that suits them best. Examination results in both the IB and A Levels are high and our students enter the very best universities in the UK and abroad.

Worth School caters for boys and girls aged 11-18. Boys as of year 7 and for girls as of year 9 can choose to board at Worth School.

There are three boarding Houses for boys in Years 7 to 12: Butler, Rutherford and St Bede's; and one House for Year 13 boys: Gervase. Boarding (from Year 9) and day girls occupy the newly developed St Mary's House.

Being a boarder enables students to make the most of the school’s facilities, many of which are open in the evenings. Our flexible weekend policy allows students either to go home after classes or sporting fixtures on a Saturday or to remain in school where a number of activities are offered. There is a thriving activity programme in place on Sundays and pupils are able to take part in a variety of pursuits from paintballing to quad-biking.

Each boarding house has its own unique family atmosphere. In the lower Years, students share dormitories/rooms, whilst students in the Sixth Form have individual study bedrooms. Each House at Worth is run by a Housemaster or Housemistress, with the assistance of a dedicated team of Deputies, Tutors and House Matrons.

Day Students:
All day students at Worth belong to one of five Houses:

* Austin House accommodates day boys in Years 7 & 8
* Farwell and Chapman Houses accommodate day boys in Years 9 to 12
* Gervase House accommodates day boys in Year 13
* St Mary's House accommodates day (all Years) and boarding girls (Years 9 to 13)

Like the boarding houses, day houses also have a Housemaster or Housemistress and support staff. The day houses have a common room for lower and middle school students while seniors also have individual study areas, all of which are networked.

Day students participate fully in the life of the school and are able to take part in extra-curricular activities, both in the evenings and at weekends.

Day students arrive by 8:30 a.m. each morning and leave from 6:00 p.m. A minibus service with pick-up points in Kent, Surrey and Sussex is available for those who require transport to and from school.
