Boston Language Institute, Massachusetts:
We consider it to be the major goal of our program to have you use Vietnamese in as large a variety of real-life situations as possible. To that end, our Vietnamese courses have been designed to build fluency in both the spoken and the written language. Communication in a warm and relaxed environment is an important feature of our programs, as is homework, which includes exercises for review and practice of the material taught in class.
Vietnamese Language Lessons for Adults:
Vietnamese Level 1:
Introduces spoken Vietnamese and aims to provide beginning students with a practical command of the language.
Upon completion of this course students should be able to engage in brief conversations about themselves and their daily activities using the present and past verb tenses.
The alphabet is taught to support correct pronunciation and knowledge of word structure. Grammatical topics include personal pronouns, expressions of time and date, and possession.
Vietnamese Level 2:
Upon completion of Level Two, students should be able to engage in more sophisticated discussions on a range of basic topics.
Building upon the skills studied in Level One, grammatical topics include comparatives, expressions of distance and location, classifiers and the future and present perfect tenses.
Private Vietnamese Programs:
Private instruction offers students an opportunity to work one-on-one with an instructor at their own pace. The instructor carefully selects materials and plans lessons to effectively meet the student's goals and individual learning style.
Private programs offer a flexible schedule and a customized curriculum. Two classes (each 90 or 120 minutes) per week is the suggested module, but dates, times and content can be arranged according to your requirement.
Whether your focus is to read and write professional documents, make presentations using specific terminology, or gain confidence and fluency in different professional and social situations, we will work with you to design a program that fulfills your needs.
Corporate packages, with classes held either at the Institute or at the student's office, are also available.
Vietnamese Immersion Program:
Group Immersion Programs are designed to teach the equivalent of levels 1 to 5 of the Institute's classes in one four-week, 120-hour session.
The main goal of the program, which meets in small classes of 4 to 12, is to help students, from day one, to increase confidence in their ability to use their new language in a wide range of real-life situations and improve their oral skills as they progress from level to level.
Upon completion of the program, students can expect to feel comfortable speaking in a variety of situations and to have gained a solid understanding of the grammatical, structural and cultural aspects of the language.
