Located in Yorktown VA, Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is a Pre-K through Grade 12 classical Christian school designed to develop lifelong learners who are carefully equipped to meet the educational, professional, moral and spiritual challenges that we all face throughout adulthood. Our K4 and K5 programs are specifically designed to respect the individual developmental needs of young students. At the Grammar stage (Grades 1-6), students receive solid instruction to establish conceptual understanding along with the facts and rules of each discipline. We provide Dialectic Courses in Grades 7-9, and Rhetoric Phase Courses in Grades 10-12.
Pre-K through Grade 12 Christian Education Programs:
Summit Christian Academy’s curriculum provides an emphasis on the basics of classical learning integrated within a strong Christ-centered worldview. Children learn to pursue truth – sacred and secular without distinction, for “all truth is God’s truth” – with diligence and excellence. We endeavor to train children in mind, body and spirit according to God’s Word and with God’s love.
Our Developmental Kindergartens:
Our K4 and K5 programs are specifically designed to respect the individual developmental needs of young students. Carefully paced multi-modality learning broadens a student’s knowledge base and conceptual understanding, moving from the concrete to the symbolic, in the areas of language and math.
Grades 1 through 6:
At the Grammar stage, students receive solid instruction to establish conceptual understanding along with the facts and rules of each discipline. A strong phonetic approach to reading ensures proper decoding, eliminating the frustration of guessing.
