The Mapúa Institute of Technology, referred to informally as Mapúa, is a 80-year old technology-focused school located in the heart of the Philippine capital of Manila. With 15,000 students in college level it is the biggest engineering school in the Philippines, accounting for about 8% of engineering graduates every year. The Institute alsoruns a pre-engineering high school with about 1,800 students. The Institute's name derives from its founder, Don Tomas Mapúa, an architecture graduate of Cornell University.
