Air transport
The city of Arequipa is serviced by the Alfredo Rodriguez Ballon International Airport. It is located in the district of Cerro Colorado, about 8 miles from downtown.  Once you arrive in Lima, you can find various flights via LAN Peru and PERUVIAN AIRLINES that fly to Arequipa over 15 times per day.  Many times you can find a local flight through PERUVIAN AIRLINES for less than $100 USD, one way to Arequipa.

Land transport
Buses from Lima to Arequipa leave throughout the day and cost approximately $30.00 USD. The trip is approximately 14 hours from Lima to Arequipa. Bus transport companies provide non-stop journeys, with meals, air conditioning and comfortable seats.

Local transportation
Taxis: Local taxis in Arequipa cost about $1.00 USD. 
Buses (Combis): Local buses cost about 40 U.S. cents to get around town.
