Sun Certified Programmer / SCJP Training - Career Options

Qualification you will have:
Sun Microsystems is a provider of network computing and infrastructure solutions. Some of Sun Microsystems well known brands include the Solaris operating system and the Java technology platform. Sun provide several certification exams to educate IT professionals on their products. The Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) certification is one of their foundation certifications for programmers with proven ability in the fundamentals of the java programming language.
What it involves:
The SCJP is aimed at students with some exposure to Java who wish to get certification for their skills and who may wish to further their career as a Java Programmer. The SCJP is the prerequisite for many further java related certifications offered by Sun Microsystems. To attain certification candidates must successfully complete one exam. The exam consists of 72 multiple choice questions to be answered in 175 minutes. Candidates must answer at least 43 questions correctly to pass. The exam covers the essentials of the Java programming language e.g. looping, variables, string handling, I/O and parsing but does not cover GUI, Web or Network programming.
