The Bush Centre For Ballet, Sandy Springs:
Located in Sandy Springs, Fulton County, Georgia, The Bush Centre For Ballet offers ballet and pointe lessons for children and teenagers. Our programs include pre-ballet I ages 3 to 4, pre-ballet II ages 5 to 7, ballet I and II for students 8+ and pointe lessons for children of 11+ based on foot and ankle strength. Our program includes adult classes.
During the normal school year we provide the following classes:
- Ballet Lessons for children from 3 to 18 years; contemporary ballet classes; pointe and pre-pointe lessons.
- Classes are offered on Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, Wed am.
- Group Courses and Private Lessons
- Summer Dance Camps for 6 to 16 year olds
Children Pre-Ballet I (ages 3-4) and Pre-Ballet II (ages 5 to 7):
Children will learn some fundamental ballet poses and steps, enjoying the opportunites to learn about classical music and famous ballets, while obtaining a balance between developmental skill sets and emotional needs appropriate for this age group.
Children Ballet I/II:
Children will learn more advance steps, utilizing barre and centre floor exercises which build upon the skill set already learned in Pre-Ballet classes. Ages 8-16 will involve themselves in learning traditional ballet forms and movement, learning to put arm, leg, and head movements together, balance technique, and posturing.
Pointe:
Children ages 11-12 may begin pointe lessons along with their traditional ballet classes depending on their structural strength. Musicality is emphasized al
ong with more advanced exercises.
Private Lessons:
Private lessons are also available upon request.
Summer Dance Camp:
These camps will be offered only upon adequate enrollment. Call for more information.

Located in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, Open Door Preschool offers infant, toddler and preschool programs for children of 14 months to 5 years. The school was founded in 1964 when a group of parents opened the first integrated non-sectarian non-profit preschool in Augusta. It was the only preschool with an ‘open door’ policy and was entirely administered by the parents.
