Student classes are designed to foster those skills appropriate to their age group and may incorporate respect, sharing, participation, leadership, listening, following directions, and self-discipline. This is achieved through a methodology of instruction as created by the Royal Academy of Dance to promote healthy and happy self-images in a fun, controlled class environment for ages 3-8.

Various techniques are taught including Vaganova, French, Italian, and American. We believe in exposure to many forms of ballet technique so that the students can see and experience the differences in development and execution of dance steps.

Mission :

Photo of Ballet School in Sandy Springs, GAThe Director Ms. Bush believes in creating a healthy environment in which students will learn to appreciate the history and various techniques of classical ballet.

Methodology:
We teach our younger students fundamental ballet poses and steps, letting them enjoy the opportunites to learn about classical music and famous ballets, while obtaining a balance between developmental skill sets and emotional needs appropriate for this age group.  We also provide instruction on different levels for those requiring more advanced work.

We teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced students with the idea that when they are ready to move ahead, they will be evaluated and have available  the appropriate classes to do so.

Photos of The Bush Centre For Ballet, Sandy SpringsWe participated in the Sandy Springs Festival for several years.  We also attend a family production  of The Atlanta Ballet for our students to see professional performances.  The studio does performances for community assisted living facilities when possible.  We have an open house at Halloween and a short performance may be  done in the studio .  Winter performances may also occur when students are available.  We have an annual sleepover for older students in the spring where they come together as a social event, while still having a learning experience.  .

Fundraisers are sometimes held to support the studio's offering of scholarships to students needing financial assistance.   Although we were not able to attend recently, we were invited to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.    We have previously sent students to perform and they loved the trip to New York and having this once in a lifetime experience.  See the accompanying picture of our participants.
