Located in the Des Plaines suburb of Chicago, IL, Jethro Healthcare School is a nursing and healthcare training provider that offers a range of Certificate level allied health & nursing programs that include Nurse Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Patient Care, and more. Allied Health & Nursing Certificate Programs:
Basic Nurse Assistant (CNA Preparation)
CNAs give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses. Working closely with patients, CNAs are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs.
Patient Care Technician Program
The Patient Care Technician training program combine classroom course studies with practical skills mastered in the laboratory. Main duties of patient care technicians are to assist in nursing care and provide patient transportation, as from a hospital room to an x-ray unit. Students graduating from patient care technician course may also be required to maintain rooms, stock supplies, and keep areas and rooms clean.
LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Pre-Requisite Classes
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are a vital part of the health care system and participate in a variety of different work settings. They perform duties that may include include observing patients, taking vital signs, performing basic diagnostic tests, dressing wounds, giving injections and administering medication. They also assist patients in daily living activities such as eating, dressing, exercising, and bathing. LPNs usually work under the supervision of registered nurses, physicians, and/or dentists.
Restorative Nurse Assistant
The objective of the program is to instruct the student to meet the required skills to perform simple therapy/nursing procedures contributing to the care and rehabilitation of the sick or injured and others requiring therapy services.
Pharmacy Technician Program
A Pharmacy Technician is an individual who, under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the performance of activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist. They assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing healthcare to patients.
Dialysis Technician Program
Dialysis Technicians operate machines that remove waste and excess fluids from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer carry out those functions. Dialysis technicians are also referred to as renal dialysis technicians, hemodialysis technicians, or nephrology technicians.
EKG Technician Program
The EKG technician is responsible for maintaining the equipment and supplies, preparing the patient for the test and monitoring the patient during the procedure. Additional duties may include scheduling of appointments, data entry into computerized machines, typing of physicians' interpretations, and maintaining patient files. Electrocardiograph technicians, commonly called EKG technicians, operate noninvasive equipment which prints graphic tracings of electrical impulses transmitted by the heart.
Phlebotomy Technician
The Phlebotomy Technician (phlebotomist) is an integral member of the medical laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of blood samples from patients by venipuncture or microtechniques. The technician is often the patients only contact with the medical laboratory. The need to assure quality and patient safety mandates strict professional behavior and standards of practice for these phlebotomy practitioners.
Physical / Occupational Therapy Assistant
This 140-hour class will teach you the role of the physical therapy aide in patient recovery, medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, common physical disorders, common physical therapy treatments such as exercise and mobility.
Physical therapy aide is one of the fastest growing jobs today. Physical therapy aides work under the supervision of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. You can work in a hospital, physical therapy office, personal care facility, or with a home health agency.
Electronic Health Record Specialist
Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist is a certificate program that provides students with the knowledge and skills used in the modern medical office. This program is both instructor led, incorporates multi-media, and utilizes interactive on-line learning.
Students learn skill sets that will ultimately enable them to complete tasks in a medical environment both efficiently and effectively. Students will learn essential skills for proper medical office procedures; medical terminology and human anatomy.
