Hazy Institute of Learning, Oak Park: Located in the Oak Park suburb of Detroit MI, the Hazy Institute of Learning offers Certification programs in healthcare fields such as Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA), Direct Care Worker Training (DCW), Home Health Aide Training, and more. We provide day and evening sessions offered every 2 – 3 weeks in your chosen program. Programs are provided using conducive, cost efficient, outcome-based methods, and facilitated by competent, compassionate, facilitating and caring instructors.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training (2 – 3 weeks) Certified Nursing Assistant Training teaches skills and theory that focus on the six principles of care and will enable participants to provide quality care for resident in long term care facilities and in their homes. Skills taught range from taking blood pressure pulse rate, temperature and respiration, personal care and grooming to communication skills.
Students will be taught by seasoned state certified instructors in the Class, Lab, and in Clinical settings. Our students are given individual attention as necessary to help them achieve their goals. Our CNA training program fulfills the State of Michigan requirements.
Home Health Aide (1 week) This 24 hour training program teaches skill and theory that will be necessary to provide personal care and home services in a private home or hospice settings. The program typically focuses on the role and responsibilities of a Home Health Aide.
Upon completion of this program the student will receive a Hazy Institute of Learning HHA Certificate of Completion.
Direct Care Worker (DCW) Training (2 weeks) The DCW training program is to prepare individuals to be able to work with the physically/mentally challenged in our community. Instructions include teaching prospective students the role of a direct care worker, how to handle/deal with challenging behaviors; observing and respecting protecting and promoting resident’s rights in their homes.
Emergencies prevention and first aid measures necessary for caring for the residents; importance of good health habits and nutrition practices for the up-keep of the residents.
Phlebotomy Technician (3-4 weeks) In Michigan, all Phlebotomy Students must be certified by law and only after completing a State Approved Training Programs. Upon Successful Completion of this training, Students are qualified to take the NHA* Exam, also available at Hazy Institute of Learning.
