Practical Nursing Diploma Program

The clinical portion of the program provides students with hands-on experience; providing nursing care to patients of all ages, ethnic and cultural groups, and stages of wellness/illness in hospitals and other health care agencies affiliated with Fortis College.
Medical Assistant Diploma Program
Medical assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists running smoothly. Fortis offers a medical assisting program designed to provide you with knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment as a medical assistant in a medical office or clinic, with skills in office administration, computer, and clinical areas.
Medical Office Administration Diploma Program
This program is designed to prepare the graduate for employment as a Medical Office Specialist. Graduates of this program gain skills which allow them to perform administrative tasks such as: medical billing and coding, word processing, medical claims processing, keyboarding, examination, hospital billing, collections and follow-up on delinquent claims process.
Dental Assistant Diploma Program
Duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. These tasks require both interpersonal and technical skills.
Massage Therapy Diploma Program
The design of this program provides the student with the basic understanding of the fundamentals of massage. Through lecture and hands-on instruction in Swedish techniques, physiology, pathology, anatomy, and kinesiology, the student is prepared to successfully enter the massage industry. The program also provides information in various additional techniques currently practiced in massage therapy clinics. At the end of this program, students are prepared to sit for the national certification examination.
Surgical Technology Diploma Program
The Surgical Technology program at Fortis College provides students with the knowledge and skills to work with and under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses. At Fortis College, the surgical technology program allows students to become a part of the team that provides care to patients during the crucial periods of surgery.
Upon graduation from the Surgical Technology program, a graduate may be employed as a member of an operating room team, which includes surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses. Our graduates may also be qualified to work in surgical centers, delivery rooms, and medical clinics.
Sterile Processing Technology Diploma Program
The main duty of a Sterile Processing Techician is to insure that instruments used by medical personnel are contaminant-free. ]The Sterile Processing Technician is properly trained to handle surgical instruments and understand microbiology and infection control methods.
Pharmacy Technology Diploma Program
Pharmacy Technicians are trained health care professionals who work in both hospitals and retail pharmacies under the supervision of a pharmacist. As a graduate of the Fortis College Pharmacy Technology program, you will learn the practice of reading, filling and distributing prescriptions, as well as understanding common drug interactions along with their side effects.
