SimplySteno:
Based in Oregon, SimplySteno provides a quality court reporting program available online to students from all over the United States.
To work as a court reporter, most states require you to pass the RPR exam as given by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). The primary aim of our program is to help you to pass the RPR exam and get into the working world.
Our goal is to help you to use your steno machine in a money-making capacity, whether it be as a court reporter, transcriber, captioner, CART (Communication Access Realtime Transcription) provider, etc.
When you feel you're ready to take on the RPR exam or start working in a state that doesn't require an exam, you can complete your program.
Online Court Reporting Programs:
- SimplySteno is an online court reporting training program that prepares you to take the RPR exam. You can start our program on any Monday and work at your own pace.
- Our program focuses on 6 areas: Dictation/Testing, Academics, Drills, Scheduling, Mental Conditioning and Creativity. All 6 of these are worked into a daily schedule that leaves nothing for you to interpret.
- If you have the ability to get online for every lesson you do, SimplySteno Plus is the way to go. It's SimplySteno, plus all the added features like an audio library, video library, test tracking, brief machine and more.
Both programs have your lessons on demand, so either is a great choice!
"I was feeling like I needed a "pick-me-up" with my practice routines. Between working full time and going to school full time, I really didn't know what to practice - to set aside the necessary time to practice. One day I came across SimplySteno, and it has been the confidence booster that I was looking for. The program offers great dictation, feedback, and I look forward to having something structured to practice to each day. I am doing much better in school and passing tests since I started!"

"SimplySteno is a real step forward in training for court reporters. It is a down-to-earth approach that recognizes that court reporting students aren’t training in a vacuum. It gives plenty of support and direction for succeeding in spite of the distractions of everyday life.
Marc’s common sense and understanding of the pitfalls of conventional school settings help students to clear the hurdles that have discouraged them in their former programs. After getting discouraged and dropping out of my second court reporting program to do transcription work, I started with SimplySteno at 190 words per minute. One month later, I passed my state exam."
