Griffith College Dublin:
Griffith College Dublin was established in 1974 and is now the largest independent college in Ireland, with a student population of over 5,000, including approximately 700 international students. It is based on a seven-acre campus in Dublin city centre. It is ranked the #1 Journalism and Accountancy College in Ireland. New developments in 2003 include the GCD Graduate Business School for postgraduate business programmes to MBA level, and the Griffith English Language Institute for year-round English language programmes.
The School of Professional Accountancy at Griffith College has gained an enviable reputation for providing students with first class lectures. Our lecturers academic strength and professional experience ensures the ongoing relevance of the course content delivered. This has been reflected in the school being awarded PLATINUM status by ACCA at both our Dublin and Cork Colleges and goldStar status by CPA at both our Dublin and Cork Colleges.
In 2004 Griffith College Dublin became the first independent college in the country to have its degrees (LLB and BA in Business & Law) accredited by the Honorable Society of King’s Inns. Ireland is an exciting place to study in the 21st Century. We are a country with an unparalleled blend of tradition and contemporary life - proud of our ancient culture, yet growing daily as a hub for the digital revolution and as a centre for international trade. Dublin city's mix of cultural and economic success, the strength of its literary and musical tradition and the friendliness of the people make Dublin an ideal location for study.
Dublin has a population of 1.5 million, with all the amenities of a big city, yet still retains a small town atmosphere. It is friendly and safe and is a city of culture with a wide variety of art galleries, museums, theatres, cinemas, shops, restaurants and cafes, nightclubs, zoological gardens and much more. Most of these amenities are within easy walking distance of the college and visitors are never at a loss for entertainment.
Our campus itself is steeped in history having had uses as varied as a prison and army barracks, right through to the renowned centre for educational excellence it is today. During the First World War the building was used as a recruiting and training centre for many of the Irish soldiers who fought in that war.
