Irish College Of English, Dublin:
Established in 1992, Irish College of English (ICE) is a high-quality English language school in Dublin, Ireland that is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Science. We offer full-time and part-time English courses for adults in two locations in Dublin: Malahide is a beautiful and affluent coastal Dublin suburb and Swords is a large and lively suburb on the north side of the city. Both of our schools are within easy reach of Dublin City Centre and both are only 10 minutes from Dublin International Airport, making them ideal locations to study English. We run morning and evening English classes and are open all year round. Students wishing to enter Ireland on a Study Visa can register on our full-time Intensive English course for 1 year (25 weeks tuition).

English Language Courses:
We offer a wide range of English language courses with 7 levels from Beginner to Proficiency.

Full-time Intensive General English Courses:
Our intensive English courses for adults are offered all year round. Students can choose the duration of their studies - from a minimum of 1 week and up to 1 year. Many students come to Ireland for a period of 2 - 4 weeks to improve their English with a full immersion programme. Other students choose to study for 1 year (25 weeks tuition) to allow them the experience of studying and living in Ireland and they are eligible to apply for a Study Visa on registration.  

The main focus of these intensive English courses is on rapid learning for communication in spoken and written English. The courses are suitable for students of all levels of English - from total beginner to advanced. Students can choose to take 15, 20 or 25 hours of classes per week. Our highly qualified English tutors set students clear learning objectives and use the latest modern teaching techniques to provide language practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing, to improve English pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar.

Our English language classes also include an Irish Culture component, which covers Irish language, history and culture, and traditional music. These special English lessons will provide those students learning English in Ireland with a better knowledge of the local people and their culture, enabling them to become more actively involved with the unique Irish way of life.

Part-time General English Evening Classes:
ICE offers general English evening classes at our Malahide and Swords English language schools. Evening classes are held 2 evenings per week for adults and students who wish to improve their English, or who wish to prepare for a Cambridge examination - such as the FCE, CAE or CPE exams. These classes are ideal for people living in the North Dublin locality, in areas such as Malahide, Swords, Howth, Clontarf, Portmarnock, Sutton, Baldoyle, Skerries, Raheny, Rush and Donabate.

The focus of our part-time English classes is on communication through spoken and written English. Our highly qualified language teachers will set you clear learning objectives and use the best techniques to provide practice in speaking, writing, listening and reading. The course also includes an Irish Culture component, which covers Irish language, traditional music, history and culture.

Business English Course:
ICE offer Business English courses in both of our Dublin schools which are offered year-round on a part-time basis. Students taken evening classes once a week for up to 16 weeks. To be eligible for this course, students must have a high-intermediate or advanced level of English.

This course is designed for students who are preparing for the Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) exam. This qualification is internationally recognised and is of great benefit when seeking employment or enrolling for further education courses. The ICE Business English course is also suitable for professionals who wish to improve their English for work purposes.

Business English Course Content:
The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills they need to interact  through English in a business environment, which will greatly improve their job prospects. The course covers all aspects of Business English with a focus on preparation for the BEC Cambridge exam. Subjects covered include speaking on the phone, writing reports, using formal vocabulary, presenting in English etc.

Certification:
Students who sit the BEC Exam will be awarded a Cambridge Certificate in Business English which is awarded at the end of the course. In addition, all students receive a Certificate of Attainment from The Irish College of English.

Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE & BEC Exam Preparation Classes:
Our Cambridge exam preparation courses are offered on a part-time basis, with students attending classes two evenings a week. The classes are suitable for students at an intermediate or advanced level of English. ICE offers specialised exam preparation classes for the following Cambridge international examinations:

- FCE Exam: First Certificate in English
- CAE Exam: Certificate in Advanced English
- CPE Exam: Certificate of Proficiency in English
- BEC Exam: Business English Certificate

The Cambridge English qualifications are of great benefit when seeking employment or enrolling for further education courses. Our exam preparation courses will allow you to obtain official certification from Cambridge University upon successful completion of the tests. Both of our schools in Dublin have an excellent record of results in these exams. Our English courses are taught by highly qualified teachers with many years experience focused on preparing specifically for these Cambridge proficiency exams.

Corporate Business English Training:
ICE offers tailor-made Corporate / Business English Training Courses to companies in all sectors. We work with many of Ireland’s leading companies and offer specialised English language courses to meet the individual company requirements. We offer companies the choice of sending employees to one of our centres or to opt for in house classes that can cater for groups of 1 – 15 students per session.

The aim of our courses is to increase the English language proficiency and communication skills of non-native employees, from all levels of staff and workers to executives. We concentrate in particular on Business English / Customer Service English / Sector Specific English, which employees can put directly into use in the corporate work environment. We also prepare non-native English staff for International Competency Exams such as the Cambridge Exams.

English Courses for Au Pairs:
At our Malahide and Swords based English language schools, we run English courses for Au Pairs, nannies and child minders. They will attend English classes two evenings per week, with a choice of General / Business English Classes or Cambridge Exam Preparation classes. These evening classes are not only a great social outlet but also the key to an au pair improving their English. 

In addition, we organise complete Au Pair stays with childminding for Irish families in the Swords and Malahide / Dublin area, facilitating both people wishing to be Au Pairs and Irish families within the area seeking Au Pairs for their children.

English & Golf Course:

ICE offers a 1-week English & Golf programme for adults at our school in Malahide. This programme is ideal for students wishing to combine a love of golf with an intensive English language stay. The golf courses and training facilities that we use are only 10 minutes away from our centre. All levels of golfer can be catered for - from total beginner to advanced.

The English & Golf programme includes:
- 10 hours of one-to-one professional English tuition
- 4 rounds of Golf on PGA Class courses accompanied by our team
- 4 star hotel bed and breakfast accommodation within 5 minutes walking distance of the school
