Amalia Jarquin is a private Spanish teacher in Antigua, Guatemala. She offers full Spanish immersion homestay programs to students from around the world. Students stay in her house and receive private lessons which are customized according to their needs. Amalia caters for students of all levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced. In addition, she offers online Spanish lessons via Skype so that students can study from any location at a schedule that best suits them. Amalia is a certified teacher with 15 years of experience. She has studied International Relations and is a native Guatemalan.

Spanish Immersion Homestay Programs in Antigua, Guatemala:

The program is divided into 4 stages:

1st level:
In this level the objective is for the student to speak and understand the basic concepts and grammatical structures to apply them to practical situations and to make good use of pronunciation (using 2 verb tenses).

Intermediate Level A:
The student will be able to understand and use concepts of structure in written and oral form, and will learn 5 verb tenses.

Intermediate Level B:
It will be necessary to reinforce the knowledge the student already has and improve comprehension and use of more verb forms.

Advanced Level:
The objective is to achieve mastery in the use of all verb forms and to focus the study in the use of the subjunctive and the complex structures of Spanish.

Experience Mission

Based in Port Hadlock, Washington, Experience Mission is a Christian mission organization offering a 6 month immersion program in the Caribbean region that starts by serving in one of South Atlanta's toughest neighborhoods before volunteering abroad in Haiti, Jamaica and Costa Rica. Experience Mission also offers a mission program in Africa, that starts in the Native American Navajo Nation of northeastern Arizona, before travelling to South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana. We currently do not provide Spanish classes as part of our program in Costa Rica.

You will experience everything from the bustling inner city to the remotest parts of the rain-forest, building authentic relationships and partnering with local leaders to create sustainable change.

Our mission programs can be divided into three areas of focus: Volunteer Mobilization, Leadership Development, and Community Empowerment. These three distinct focuses are inextricably bound and share the common purpose of spreading the love of Christ to a world in need.
Christian Mission Program (6 months):

- Immersion. Atlanta to Caribbean. Start in South Atlanta and then travel to Haiti, Jamaica and Costa Rica.

We also offer a Navajo to Africa program where participants travel to South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana.

We currently do not provide Spanish classes with our programs.

Based in Antigua, Guatemala, Amalia Jarquin is a private Spanish teacher offering online Spanish lessons via Skype, allowing students from around the world to learn Spanish from any location at a schedule that best suits them. The process of learning the Spanish language varies from one student to the other and for that reason the methods and techniques of teaching need to be adjusted to the particular skills of each person. This is possible thanks to a personalized method, where only one student and one teacher interact together.

Each lesson plan is based on the time that the student has available to learn Spanish. The level of conversation, along with the available material, is adapted as the student advances and improves each week. If a student speaks only at a basic level, the conversations are at that level. It is taken into account that the student is the one learning Spanish, and because of this the teacher's job is to conduct the lesson and maintain the rhythm and quality of the conversations.

Amalia also offers homestay accomodation in her own home combined with private Spanish lessons for a full Spanish immersion experience.
