Bell School, Palayankottai:
Bell School is ideally placed at the periphery of the Palayankottai city limits in the Tirunelveli district in the province of Tamil Nadu in India. It is one of the finest schools in the southern zones, offering over 1700 students a wide array of essential skills apart from following the government prescribed matriculation Syllabus. Skating, Swimming, Shooting (archery), Art & Design, Dance, Yoga and Gymnastics are also taught. We offer kindergarten, middle and high school programmes.
From the primary school upwards, we follow the Matriculation syllabus for private schools. The curriculum and the books followed for the basic education have been carefully chosen and the teaching methods followed by our teachers are scrutinized on a weekly basis by the co-ordinators and the members of the board governing the academic quality. Books are frequently updated as information changes, especially in volatile subjects like computer science. In languages, children learn English, Tamil, French and Hindi.
Kindergarten
At Bell School we follow the Montessori system of scientific education for children aged two to six years. We have a special Montessori room stocked with toys that enhance and hone all 5 senses: touch, hearing, sight, taste and smell. These five senses are the gateway to knowledge and eventually intelligence. A child works in the Montessori room. He / She does not play. We also have special Touchscreen systems.

It contributes in developing self-discipline, leadership qualities, social behaviour, individuality and agility. It also helps in building vocabulary, muscular co-ordination, assertiveness, awareness and helps the child to compare, contrast and discriminate.

Bell School education has its own list of distinctive unsung highlights. Children are involved in numerous activities, and more are added every year. Among the most popular ones, are our Club activities. Cooking classes, Fire safety sessions, Medical Camps, Diabetes Days, Road Safety are among our extended annual curriculum. More frequently organized are Science Projects, English and Tamil Literary Association programmes, Drama clubs, Choir and minor cultural events.
Bell School also has an excellent library with quite an extraordinary collection of books. The collection was first started by the founder Shri Chelladhurai, and his love of literature is imminent in the library’s volumes of Shakespearean works. A separate block for an ultra-modern air-conditioned library, with reference sections, reading rooms, internet corners, quiet study areas and audio visual aids, is in the proposal.
Children are always encouraged in Bell School to be creative and to develop their talents and individuality. Professionals from many fields are sometimes employed as part time teachers, or to deliver special lectures whenever the need arises to give children special training in that field. Special Counselling for senior students , Western and Folk Dance coaching are some examples.
Public speaking and compering events are always given to high school and higher secondary students to learn the skills of event management and for them to build confidence to speak on-stage.
At Bell School, we organize a lot of meetings for parents and teachers, and special counselling sessions for high school students. It is in these meetings that most of the problems are identified, discussed and issues are solved. Decisions taken by the management including changes in policies are frequently announced through these interactive sessions.
