Cape Town School Of English:
Cape Town School of English was the 1st EFL School in South Africa, established 1991 in the safe and beautiful suburb of Claremont, close to the University. Our students register to do short (2 weeks) or long (six months to 1 year) courses. Our students come from all parts of the world but mainly from Europe, Africa and Asia. Assistance with tours and travel around Southern Africa.

We follow the same principles as all international EFL schools and use similar textbooks. We use the Cambridge and Headway books as core textbooks. [If students wish to keep a textbook, they are available for purchase from Oxford and Cambridge University Press, Cape Town.]

Courses:

Our courses run continuously throughout the year. Students may enrol at any time and continue for as long as they need. Classes take place during the mornings, from 9:00am - 12:30pm each day, with a 30 minute break. Students may attend classes each day or 2 to 3 days per week.
Preparation for Cambridge and TOEFL exams.
 

Location and Facilities:

We are situated outside of the city centre  where it is safe for our students and where accommodation is readily available. Our premises are situated in an office building with 5 classrooms, a main office/reception area, a kitchen and staff room. Our classrooms are of varying sizes. In the classrooms we have whiteboards, desks, CD/tape recorders, TV and video facilities.

Accommodation:

Homestay
We have a selection of English-speaking homestay families that stay close to our school. In most cases students would need to use public transport. The homes are in safe areas and we try to place students close to one another.

Some students prefer to do their own catering. We assist with finding this sort of accommodation too.

The Knowledge Workshop (TKW) is an international language and skills centre based in the vibey suburb of Observatory, Cape Town in South Africa. The Cape Town School of English is a Language school in Cape Town specialising in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) since 1991. We offer an internationally recognised Certificate in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) in Cape Town and other centres throughout South Africa.
