Harrow International School, Bangkok:
Located in Bangkok, southern Thailand, Harrow International School is a privately owned independent school running from early years to Secondary programs. It is based on the British public school system. At HIS we inspire students to develop their talents and reach for excellence in everything they do. This is epitomized by one of its most famous sons, former British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. It is this dogged determination that each school seeks to emulate and nurture in it students.
To nurture the attitudes, knowledge and skills that encourage the aspiration of excellence in learning and living. To make this possible by providing students with a structured, disciplined and creative learning community in which school and home seek, together, to facilitate and celebrate each student’s search for identity, belonging and purpose.”
In order to achieve its mission, Harrow International School seeks to draw on: the fine reputation and traditions of England’s Harrow School, the unique context and international diversity of its host culture Thailand, and the attributes of British curricula, qualifications and teachers.
Our mission Statement clearly reflects the ambitious belief that people’s lives and enriched when they interact with people from other cultures. The primary cultural interface at Harrow International is between the host culture of Thailand and the micro British culture created within the school itself by our teachers and the curriculum they teach.
The Early Years Centre; Primary School Program; Preparatory School Program; Secondary School Program. Our curriculum education is based on teaching to the English Curriculum and the summative assessment pathways provided by GCSEs (and IGCSEs), A-levels and value-added tests such as those provided by the University of Durham. Programs are taught in English.
The success of Harrow International School can be credited to its team of fully qualified, experienced and committed teachers for whom the education profession is very much a calling rather than simply a job.
Harrow has an extensive co-curricular programme giving students opportunities to develop skills in sports, the performing and visual arts, leisure activities, clubs and community service.
