Other academic opportunities include co-op learning, in which studies are combined with real-world work experience, and exchange programs, which allow students to spend one or two terms at a foreign university.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies offers a wide range of options for master's and doctoral students. We offer students an intellectually challenging education through programs that are international in scope, interactive in process and interdisciplinary in content and approach.

This is one of the few faculties in North America with a strong focus on interdisciplinary work. At UBC, studying at the graduate level means liberation from the tight constraints of discipline and department.

UBC's Centre for Teaching and Academic Growth offers programs to enhance teaching skills for faculty and graduate students and many UBC faculties and schools also provide opportunities for continuing professional education -- UBC's Continuing Studies and Office of Learning Technology (Distance Learning) offers courses, workshops, seminars and certificate programs to both on- and off-campus learners.

Accommodation:

The Department of Housing and Conferences provides accommodation for more than 8,000 students, faculty and staff in the eight residence complexes that circle our beautiful Vancouver campus. Our goal is to provide an environment that helps students to succeed, both academically and socially. We can provide year round student family housing for familes with one or more children, or for couples. Our Child Care Services division provides on-campus quality care for the children of students, faculty and staff.

University of Calgary, Alberta is a comprehensive university with approximately 26,000 full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students pursuing bachelor's degree, master's degree, and PhD and post-doctoral programs. 500-hour comprehensive program that can be completed in 6 months (5 hours a day, 4 days a week) or over the course of 1 year (8 hours every Saturday).

Training includes 300 hours of classroom instruction plus 200 hours supervised, hands-on gym time. You will also have a practical internship with 6 months of hands-on experience in a fitness facility with a personal trainer.
