UMS Healthcare College is an allied health career training center situated in the Glen Park area of the North York district, just 10 minutes from Downtown Toronto. We provide a dedicated Personal Support Worker program. The course features 310 hours of clinical training, and students can avail of Day, Evening, and Weekend study options.

What is a Personal Support Worker?
A Personal Support Worker provides support to people who need assistance in daily needs because of injury, illness or aging. PSW’s give patients important social and emotional support and also provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses, doctors, and other medical staff.
PSWs provide assistance to patients with daily living tasks, help in day-to-day activities such as making bed, cleaning and washing. Most PSW's agree that it is one of the most rewarding challenges that a person in the healthcare industry can undertake.

Clinical Training:
The student must complete 310hours of clinical training to graduate and receive their diploma. The students will have hands on experience, using their knowledge from the theory and skills learned in the classroom.
A clinical instructor will be with the students for 180 hours of supervised clinical placement in both a long term care facility and a community facility. Students must then complete 175 hours of unsupervised clinical placement in both a long term care facility and community facility.
