Alger Learning Center:
Based in Washington State, The Alger Learning Center & Independence High School is a Washington State-approved and nationally-accredited independent homeschool program provider, serving students in grades K-12, as well as adult learners. Our student-centered philosophy focuses on individualizing education, to create a unique learning experience for each student. Our programs are specifically designed to serve a wide variety of young people who may have widely varying reasons for seeking options for their education and lives.

What is the primary difference between the Local and Distance programs?
Our Distance Learning program does not require the four hours of attendance that our Local program requires. In exchange, the role of the ALC staff is changed from that of instructors to being facilitators.

The parents and students are primarily responsible for the materials and lesson plans, with ALC staff doing follow-up and assessment.
