Salary: Competitive salary of $32,400 - $38,900 with great benefits! ($15.57 - $18.70 an hour)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (2nd Shift) – Shift subject to change.

Campus Locations: Atlanta – subject to change.

The Building Services Department is seeking a Custodian II to join our team and advance our mission of excellence.

• Provide custodial care for Georgia State University facilities.
• Clean and perform room set‑ups in assigned building areas following established routines and procedures.
• Perform sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and buffering floors, vacuuming, and maintain cleanliness of campus floors.
• Remove trash, clean counters, equipment, and furnishings.
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratories, office areas, classrooms, and other assigned work areas.
• Restock and clean restrooms.
• Set up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other public areas.
• Handle emergency clean‑ups and related duties as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals daily and work around potentially dangerous materials in certain laboratories.
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push and pull floor equipment, push and pull large trash barrels, and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds.
• Must possess a normal degree of dexterity and floor technician experience.

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting.
• Must be able to lift approximately 30-50 lbs.

• Experience with heavy lifting.
• Knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Six months of experience using powered cleaning equipment and restoring floors.
• Leadership experience as a cleaning team lead.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in institutional, industrial, or commercial settings.
• Physical ability to perform manual work for an extended period of time.
• Completion of formal training in facilities courses.
