Summary

Miami Environmental & Energy Solutions is hiring a Custodial Service Worker/Floor Tech. The role is responsible for completing all assigned floor care and custodial duties on a daily basis, ensuring spaces are clean, sanitary and compliant with industry standards and contract requirements. This is an onsite position in Atlanta, GA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for janitorial services and will keep the facility’s appearance and cleanliness to a high standard for visitors and building occupants.
  • Respond to janitorial emergencies such as spills or other situations immediately and report them to the manager.
  • Ensure restrooms, public areas and office spaces and cubicles are clean.
  • Provide and display appropriate, neat, and well‑kept signs to indicate danger, hazardous floors, etc., as applicable. Signs shall be displayed at all times in all areas where cleaning operations are in progress and removed when no longer needed.
  • Ensure every room is cleaned and prepared for setup for an upcoming event.
  • Return furniture to the designated arrangement upon completion of appropriate cleaning tasks and move furniture or furnishings as necessary when cleaning carpeting and flooring.
  • Follow policies and procedures on safety and sanitation.
  • Follow all emergency procedures.
  • Complete all trainings required by management.
  • Perform any or all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Keep work phone on and name tag on uniform.
  • Communicate any issues from client to the Director of Custodial Services and Custodial Supervisor.
  • Check in with managers at the end of the shift.
  • Clean and maintain various types of floor surfaces.
  • Perform all detail and periodic floor care to hard floors and carpets using established floor cleaning and finishing techniques.
  • Strip, wax and clean tile floors.
  • Perform weekly preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Operate equipment used for floor maintenance including buffing machines, burnishers, extractors, hosts and carpet sweepers.
  • Maintain clean, organized storage and work areas including but not limited to designated storage rooms and closets, janitorial closets and housekeeping carts.
  • Perform all assigned daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi‑annually, and annual periodic cleaning duties to ensure a neat, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
  • Maintain floors and all other surfaces to manager specification and industry standards.
  • Perform all other regular non‑floor‑tech related daily custodial duties as assigned by management.
  • Report to and be supervised by the Director of Custodial Services.
  • Work in conjunction with all custodial and conference service employees.
  • Deal with any guest or employee who requires or requests hospitality or custodial services.
  • After training, maintain a working knowledge of all MSDS information as per OSHA requirements.
  • Inventory supplies needed to perform daily operations as requested by the manager.
  • Communicate closely with management and employees in all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Establish, implement, and follow all emergency procedures.
  • Work with a diverse group of co‑workers and customers in a high volume, demanding, Class A facility.
  • Be empowered to act on any job function issues that can directly influence any guest or employee experience in a positive manner.
  • Actively participate in training programs as directed by the Director of Custodial Services.
  • Report all accidents to the manager immediately.
  • Be responsible for aiding in own self‑development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
  • Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction to maximize personal output.
