The Fox Theatre
, one of Atlanta’s most iconic and historic landmarks, is hiring a Housekeeping Porter to help keep our beautiful venue clean, welcoming, and preserved. Since 1929, the Fox has been a treasured cultural destination, and our housekeeping team plays a critical role in maintaining this legacy.

Fox Theatre Housekeeping personnel are responsible for maintaining the day-to-day housekeeping needs of the Fox Theatre, including both interior and exterior spaces. This role ensures a safe, clean, and sanitary environment throughout the theatre, administrative offices, restrooms, backstage areas, exterior spaces, and perimeter of the facility—while supporting the preservation of one of Atlanta’s most iconic historic landmarks.

What You’ll Do

Clean, sanitize, disinfect, and maintain restrooms, lobbies, theatre seating areas, backstage dressing rooms, ballrooms, Marquee Club, administrative offices, exterior spaces, sidewalk perimeter, and additional assigned areas.

Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, and hauling trash.

Ensure restrooms are sanitary and well stocked with paper goods and supplies.

Clean and maintain interior windows and glass as instructed.

Assist with stocking, organizing, and cleaning housekeeping closets.

Maintain proper care of uniforms, tools, equipment, and supplies.

Operate housekeeping equipment including buffers, power sweepers, extractors, shampooing equipment, and electrostatic sprayers as directed.

Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damage.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills to relay information to supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Ability to read and follow directions, instructions, and safety guidelines
Education & Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping or custodial experience

Preferred:

  • Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) accreditation or training
Physical Requirements
  • Continuous physical activity throughout the shift
  • Ability to frequently traverse the building, including multiple floors and stairways
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push, pull, or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including frequent evening, weekends, holidays as needed
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment background check
