Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site maintenance role is located in Atlanta, GA and is responsible for the upkeep and repair of housing units and related facilities. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, addressing work orders, completing repairs to building systems and equipment, and ensuring common areas are clean and safe. The role involves conducting basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting work as needed, as well as coordinating with supervisors and other staff to prioritize maintenance needs.
The maintenance team member will document all work performed, follow safety protocols, and support preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and maintain a high standard of property conditions.
- Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance for residential or commercial properties.
- Experience with Equipment Maintenance, including safe operation, basic adjustments, and minor repairs.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance tasks to extend equipment and facility life and reduce emergency repairs.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues with building systems, appliances, and equipment and determine effective solutions.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting practices commonly used in property maintenance.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety instructions, and simple diagrams or manuals.
- Reliable attendance, strong time management, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, climb, and perform manual labor safely, with adherence to all safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in housing authority, property management, or facilities maintenance is beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties as required.
