Day Porter

Position Summary The Day Porter provides continuous daytime cleaning and customer support services throughout Class A commercial properties. This position helps maintain a polished, safe, and professional environment while responding promptly to tenant and building needs with exceptional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of high-traffic areas throughout the day Monitor and restock restroom and breakroom supplies

Spot-clean floors, glass, elevators, and common areas

Respond quickly to spills, service requests, and unexpected cleaning needs

Conduct routine property walkthroughs to identify cleanliness or safety concerns

Safely operate cleaning equipment and properly handle cleaning chemicals according to OSHA and SDS guidelines

Maintain awareness of slip, trip, and fall hazards and place proper safety signage when needed

Support conference room setups and shared space maintenance

Provide professional and tenant-focused customer service while interacting with building occupants and visitors

Qualifications

Previous commercial porter or janitorial experience is A MUST Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning chemical safety and PPE requirements

Ability to multitask and respond quickly in a fast-paced commercial environment

Professional appearance and positive attitude

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work in a commercial environment. Essential duties may include standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and repetitive movements; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; and operating cleaning equipment, tools, and machinery safely and effectively. Employees may work in varying indoor conditions, around cleaning chemicals, noise, dust, and high-traffic areas.

The ability to follow safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain consistent attendance is essential to the role.
