- Supervises, plans and coordinates facility maintenance department activities including building structure and equipment repairs to maintain optimum service levels.
- Establishes preventive maintenance programs for new and existing equipment.
- Manages daily activities of custodial associates and spare parts inventory for facility equipment.
- Shares best practices with other Central Facility Centers and promotes safe work practices.
- Ensures building operational regarding climate control and OSHA standards, maintaining hazardous materials logs and evacuation procedures.
- Establishes relationships with various departments and participates on cross‑functional teams.
- Supports associate involvement in safety through team engagement in the Safety Culture.
- Engages in continuous improvement efforts within the department, using assessment tools to mitigate risk.
- Fosters MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company.
- Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Manager as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct, including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.
- Participates in formulating the annual operating expense and capital budget for facility equipment.
- Participates in cross‑functional teams.
- Performs pest removal, electrical and mechanical repairs as needed.
- May be temporarily re‑assigned to other warehouse functions to meet customer service requirements.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of five years relevant work experience required.
- Certification or degree in a related maintenance area preferred.
- Training in automation equipment.
- Two or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing control equipment, including PLCs.
- Programming experience desired.
- Proficiency in conveyor system parts and operations, e.g., merges, sorters, VFDs, motors.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical information, and pneumatics.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Excellent knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, starters, and switch gears.
- Excellent mechanical ability with bearings, shafts, speed reducers, sprinkler systems, and similar systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including on‑call status.
- Ability to provide technical information to maintenance team regarding equipment and projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Bending to lift items from floor and racks.
- Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Operating at heights up to 50 feet.
- Standing for prolonged periods.
- On‑call 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
- May require a valid state driver’s license.
Salary range: $51,800.00 – $77,000.00 depending on candidate location and experience. Actual compensation based on relevant experience, education, and equity considerations. Company reserves right to adjust as market conditions change.
