Maintenance Technician
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with occasional weekends
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team in Atlanta, GA
. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure campus buildings and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering quality work and excellent customer service.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace plumbing fixtures, valves, and related components.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and replace electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances.
- Complete basic carpentry repairs on doors, windows, hardware, screens, and furniture.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with painting, facility setups, and special event preparations.
- Coordinate with staff regarding room setups and maintenance needs.
- Work cooperatively with custodial staff and other trades to complete maintenance projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and building occupants.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance or related experience
. - Experience with plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry repairs.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
. - Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and work orders.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- $20.00 per hour
- Full-time hours
- Day shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Monday through Friday with occasional weekends
