Heavy Equipment Mechanic, General Labor, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
Responsible for performing preventive maintenance, special inspections and general repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT, federal and state regulations and Company standards.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
- Perform annual/systematic 90‑day inspections to ensure equipment meets federal FHWA standards.
- Conduct HM inspections.
- Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies, including identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
– Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience in the use of inspection and test equipment used for cargo tank inspections.
- Must have own tools.
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Physical Demands- Use arms to reach, stretch, and grasp, move, or assemble objects of a variety of sizes.
- Use legs to stand for long periods, maneuver through shop environment, and perform locomotive functions including crawling, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and carrying or relocating objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Perform broad locomotive motions such as bending, twisting, balancing, and reaching.
- Perform fine locomotive motions involving the use of fingers for tool manipulation.
- Adjust, execute, maintain, and repeat all bodily motions, postures, and stances to accommodate rapid and gradual changes within the work environment.
- Visual and auditory demands for operating in varying lighting and sound levels, including identifying objects at close and distant ranges.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safe operation.
Confined spaces are utilized in this position.

The salary range for this position is $25.27 to $37.98 hourly.
