THRYVE of Burbank is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all facility flooring through routine cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet care. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesClean, buff, strip, wax, and refinish hard surface floors.
Shampoo, extract, and maintain carpets and other flooring surfaces.
Operate floor care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
Maintain hallways, resident rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces to facility standards.
Follow established cleaning schedules and preventive floor maintenance programs.
Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA and facility guidelines.
Identify and report flooring hazards, equipment malfunctions, and maintenance needs.
Maintain inventory of floor care supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
Assist the Environmental Services department with general housekeeping duties as needed.
Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Director or Administrator.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous floor care or housekeeping experience in a healthcare, long-term care, hospitality, or commercial setting preferred.
Experience operating floor care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, and scrubbers, is preferred.
Knowledge of proper floor maintenance techniques and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
