Position DetailsDepartment: Maintenance
Status: Full-time
As the Maintenance Worker I, you will be primarily responsible for the general maintenance of Sertoma Star facilities, including building, grounds, equipment and agency vehicles, in compliance with local codes and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and building inspections on all Sertoma Star buildings and equipment, maintaining accurate records.
- Repair or replace electrical devices, plumbing fixtures and conduct general carpentry and miscellaneous repairs as needed.
- Review and respond to maintenance e‑tickets in a timely manner via computer or mobile app; operate agency truck for pickups, delivery and special projects.
- Respond to emergencies, including nights, holidays and weekends, following an on‑call schedule.
- Act as backup to the Maintenance Manager when absent.
- Move office and residential furniture as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace by following safety procedures and enforcing protective equipment use.
- Complete snow removal and light landscaping as necessary.
- Execute plumbing and sewer troubleshooting and miscellaneous repairs.
- Attend all agency‑mandated training within required time frames.
- Meet requirements and maintain compliance with applicable licensing, funding, accreditation and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties/tasks as needed.
- High school diploma plus two (2) years of college or equivalent technical training; plus two (2) years of related experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices and practical mathematics.
- Good judgment, strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle report. CDL desirable.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
