Maintenance Technician

Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-time

Hourly Rate: $18 to $20 per hour.

We re looking for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to help keep our YOS properties clean, safe, and functioning smoothly. You ll work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to handle day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs, and safety checks.

Perform basic manual labor, including:

• Trash removal
• Restocking, cleaning, and bathroom supplies
• Light landscaping
• Basic furniture repairs
• Complete monthly safety inspections at our outpost offices
• Deliver internal mail twice a week to various locations
• Support emergency maintenance requests when needed (on-call support)
• Work safely and monitor any contractor work on our properties
• Assist with special projects and other maintenance duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Illinois driver s license
• Some experience in maintenance or general labor preferred
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including in wet or humid conditions
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and general maintenance tools
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Comfortable working around diverse teams and communities.

Additional Info:

• This role involves physical work: standing, lifting, bending, and working in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to work near machinery and handle tools safely.
• May occasionally work in high places or around fumes/dust.
