Maintenance Worker (MW) - 2nd Shift (40 hours, Full-time) Non-Exempt

The Maintenance Worker (MW) works with the facilities team to maintain the facilities and grounds to provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming atmosphere for program participants, staff and the public. Work includes cleaning, room set-up and take-down. The (MW) reports to Facilities Manager (FM).

Responsibilities
  • Work positively and professionally with all staff, program participants, community members and guests, to provide a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Do cleaning interior, exterior, and immediate grounds while performing light maintenance, as part of the maintenance team
  • Pull garbage, pick up trash and maintain clean building and grounds
  • Set up building for programs and rentals, as part of the maintenance team, as assigned
  • Do receiving, storing, and distributing custodial supplies, as part of the maintenance team
  • Assist with performing minor building repairs as needed, under the direction of the facilities manager. Work on completing work orders, under the direction of the facilities manager
  • Shovel snow and de-ice walkways. Do landscaping tasks as assigned
  • Maintain effective two-way communication while dealing with concerns in the field with all staff and immediate supervisor
  • Utilize the assigned communication system to always maintain communication
  • Follow the B.U.I.L.D. policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Two years of maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to work on multiple assigned tasks and interact professionally with BUILD staff, program participants, community members and guests
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early morning, late evening and weekend hours
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to continuously walk
  • Frequently position self to clean facilities; occasionally climb ladder, ability to move boxes of supplies weighing up to 50lbs and over with assistance, walk/move on uneven ground
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 50lbs and climb ladders repeatedly
  • As of October 15, 2021, all BUILD employees are required to submit proof of full vaccination status.
