Maintenance Technician (Full-Time, Entry-Level)

Location: High Point Residence Chicago Northwest
Chicago, Illinois

Schedule: Full-Time | Sunday–Thursday | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

About the Role

High Point Residence Chicago Northwest is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. This entry-level position plays an important role in ensuring our community remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, families, and staff.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the overall upkeep of the building, equipment, and grounds. This role includes routine maintenance, minor repairs, floor care, apartment turnovers, and maintaining a welcoming environment throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Assist with the general upkeep of the facility, including grounds, equipment, and common areas
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness throughout the community, with a strong focus on floor care and building presentation
  • Assist with garbage removal and proper waste disposal procedures
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and community needs
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
  • Assist with apartment turnovers and preparation of residences for new move-ins
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient daily operations
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior maintenance experience in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or residential settings
  • Experience with floor care equipment and general building maintenance
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry work
