Field Service Technician - Coaches Chicago IL 2nd & 3rd Shifts Mobility Customer Services
Siemens Mobility continues to grow and we are seeking Field Service Technicians in Chicago, IL to assist in the coordination and implementation of all phases of service and maintenance activities of our SIEMENS VENTURE coaches. You will also help with maintenance activities at customer sites, train customers' maintenance personnel, and advise on best maintenance techniques.
Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is critical. You will interact with operational, engineering, and dispatching departments for safe, cost-effective, efficient operations. Weekly shift hours can change based on customer schedule. 2nd shift positions (1:30 pm‑10:00 pm) and 3rd shift positions (9:30 pm – 6:00 am Sunday‑Thursday and Tuesday‑Saturday).
What your day-to-day will look like- Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with customer management and maintenance facility personnel.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the charger fleet.
- Ensure responsiveness and support to finish troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests.
- Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers.
- Identify non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations.
- Assist the local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works.
- Ensure accurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, and the field team when required.
- Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues.
- Work with 3rd‑party vendors, such as Cummins, to ensure accurate operation of vendor components installed on the locomotive.
- Continuously progress customers' maintenance practices to support the charger locomotive as intended by the manual.
- Associate’s degree in electrical technology or other technical discipline or a minimum of 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical (both AC and DC circuits), mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
- Excellent English language technical communication skills.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) products.
- Ability to travel for training – approximately 10 %.
- Experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance and commissioning or other rail-related experience, knowledge of railroad regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines would set you apart.

You’ll Benefit FromSiemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees. The pay range for this position is $76,398.00 – $89,658.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
