Job Title

Position Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma, or GED certification. Work experience can be substituted for education requirements.

Experience:

General building maintenance, janitorial services, landscaping, forestry, and/or one year work experience in related field.

Job Knowledge:
Incumbent must have a basic knowledge of materials, equipment, tools and practices used in janitorial, landscaping and custodial tasks. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects up to and including 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to tolerate extended periods of standing, walking and climbing stairs.
  • Must submit to a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

Other Requirements:
Maintain automobile, valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance.

Position Summary:

This position requires the routine implementation of basic janitorial and landscaping tasks. Maintain building common areas and grounds in a decent, safe and sanitary condition, in accordance with established maintenance procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain grounds and common areas; cut and edge grass, remove trash, clean and sweep streets and sidewalks.
  • Reports known and/or suspected vacant units (move-outs) to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Final clean vacant units, including removing trash, sweeping and mopping floors and walls.
  • Removes bulk items from common areas throughout housing development.
  • Assist craft and technicians in the completion of work orders.
  • Assist stock room personnel in performing inventory, general clean up and unloading of materials.
  • Distribute flyers to residents throughout housing development.
  • Assist with vacancy preparation.
  • Assist with surveys.
  • Answer emergency calls after hours
  • Assist Technicians with rodding jobs
  • Assist with the installation of wall cabinets
  • Assist with snow detail and landscaping
  • Employee shall be courteous, professional and conscientious at all times when interacting with residents, staff and outside visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
