Painter; Union - Pendry Chicago

Position Overview

The Painter position is responsible for maintaining the painting and wallpapering throughout the property.

• Schedule and prioritize all painting and wallpaper maintenance throughout the property.
• Maintain resort OSHA/Safety programs within the paint shop and work area by following safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness, proper storage of paints and chemicals, utilizing personal protective equipment when necessary, and reporting any potential hazards.
• Maintain and control inventory through established pars for all necessary tools and equipment.
• Communicate status updates and pertinent information to all departments of the property, including guests, department managers, and fellow associates.

• High School Degree or equivalent education.
• Previous painting experience.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Preferred:
  Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree.

• Work tasks are performed indoors in moderate temperatures, but may require working up to 110°F in laundry and kitchens or outdoor hot sun or cold weather down to 40°F.
• Walk and give directions most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for up to 4 hours.
• Reach different outlets and other departments timely; work in limited space.
• Bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis; push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
• Require manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment; adequate visual acuity for near vision and depth perception.

Base hourly pay: $53.50. Incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like are excluded. Local 399 offers an excellent benefits package, including:
