Schedule: This position follows a full-time schedule with hours of 6:30am - 3:00pm. Every other weekend and holiday are required. Flexibility may be required based on patient and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans all patient rooms, washrooms, nursing stations, offices, utility rooms, conference rooms, and lounges.
- Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects when necessary, and polishes surfaces as required.
- Cleans ledges, shelves, fixtures, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors according to established procedures.
- Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily or as required, removing dust, dirt, and greasy film.
- Performs floor care duties, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and varnishing/refinishing hard surface floors to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
- Empties, cleans, and relines wastebaskets.
- Replenishes supplies such as soap, paper towels, and other dispenser items.
- Removes for cleaning and re-hangs curtains, drapes, and other privacy barriers.
- Restocks cleaning cart daily with supplies for designated area(s).
- Completes all discharge cleaning in assigned area(s).
- Maintains all assigned equipment, ensuring it is clean and in proper working condition.
- Removes trash and soiled linen to the appropriate disposal and collection areas.
- Follows all hospital safety, infection prevention, and environmental services policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience stripping, waxing, buffing, and varnishing/refinishing hard surface floors using commercial floor care equipment.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with established safety guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
