Summary
Hotel EMC2 is looking for a motivated, customer‑focused Maintenance Technician to join our 24/7 hospitality team. You will create a motivating work environment, deliver a Four‑Diamond level of service, and continuously improve your performance. Previous maintenance experience, including HVAC and general maintenance, is helpful. Hotel experience preferred.
Hourly Compensation: $26.00 – $27.00.
Responsibilities- Respond to engineering service calls.
- Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments in a timely basis.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.
- Ensure equipment is working properly.
- Complete other special projects as assigned by the Chief Maintenance Engineer.
- Represent the hotel and restaurants in a positive manner at all times.
- Prioritize repairs or maintenance issues that may impact or inconvenience the guest experience.
- Repair and maintain facility buildings and equipment.
- Complete building and room renovations, plumbing, painting, sheetrock work, electrical, and carpentry.
- Make repairs on all mechanical, electric and plumbing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building and equipment.
- Complete ground work and custodial work as necessary.
- Maintain all equipment and property in good repair with a minimum of downtime under the direction of the Chief Engineer.
- Monitor and perform periodic tests on Fire Alarm and Life Safety System.
- Assist in energy conservation by observing energy and utilities usage; recommend ideas to the Chief Engineer.
- Clean, lubricate, protect and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are returned to and secured in proper storage area.
- Assist in handling emergencies to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems; act quickly and responsibly to return the building to normal operation.
- Inform the Chief Engineer of any emergencies.
- Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain communication with the Chief Engineer to ensure all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order.
- Keep the Chief Engineer updated on assignments.
- Demonstrate financial responsibility by monitoring budgetary guidelines.
- Exemplify the hotel's Standard Code of Conduct and all other regulations established by management and the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain the hotel's emergency procedures as instructed by hotel management.
- Lead the Hotel EMC2 experience as instructed by hotel leaders.
- Active/current member of the IUOE Local 399.
- Two to three years of hands‑on HVAC and refrigeration experience (or 4–6 years if stated elsewhere).
- Communication in the primary language of the hotel.
- Well groomed, appropriate uniform/dress at all times.
- Flexible to work 24/7 hotel operation.
- Physical ability to carry, lift, push and pull items weighing 100–300 pounds; frequently stand, move, bend, stoop, kneel, climb and crawl to maintain the facility.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
