Maintenance Mechanic – Chicago, IL (Hiring Immediately)
Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for performing hands‑on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems daily.
Pay, Schedule, and Location- Starting at $30/hour

- Located in Chicago, Illinois
- Respond to unscheduled/emergency work orders promptly.
- Receive direction from Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, and/or Maintenance Manager.
- Complete assigned work as directed by Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, and/or Maintenance Manager.
- Document work completed in Maintenance CMMS System.
- Communicate directly with Production Department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
- Troubleshoot issues with a structured approach to minimize production impact.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing work areas throughout the plant and maintenance shop area as necessary.
- Report any food safety issue observed to Manager or Supervisor.
- Report any security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, or other suspicious behavior observed to Manager or Supervisor.
- Assist with contractors and new installations or other projects as necessary.
- Always maintain a food‑safe sanitary environment.
- Escalate any non‑conforming product/equipment/material to the appropriate manager/supervisor immediately.
- Promote a positive proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
- Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call‑in basis as necessary.
- Provide back‑up support for other roles as necessary.
- 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation principles, policies, and practices.
- Thorough working knowledge of PLC, pneumatic operated systems, schematics, one‑phase, three‑phase motors, and all aspects of conveyor feeding and packaging.
- Ability to perform projects independently and complete work in a timely fashion.
- Experience with AC/DC electrical systems, calibrated measuring instruments, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, among others.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, charts, schematics, and documents.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to perform predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the food industry preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period.
