Maintenance Mechanic – Chicago, IL (Hiring Immediately)

Accurate Personnel is hiring immediately for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This individual will be responsible for performing hands‑on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems daily.

• Respond to unscheduled/emergency work orders promptly.
• Receive direction from Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, and/or Maintenance Manager.
• Complete assigned work as directed by Maintenance Lead, Supervisor, and/or Maintenance Manager.
• Document work completed in Maintenance CMMS System.
• Communicate directly with Production Department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
• Troubleshoot issues with a structured approach to minimize production impact.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing work areas throughout the plant and maintenance shop area as necessary.
• Report any food safety issue observed to Manager or Supervisor.
• Report any security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, or other suspicious behavior observed to Manager or Supervisor.
• Assist with contractors and new installations or other projects as necessary.
• Always maintain a food‑safe sanitary environment.
• Escalate any non‑conforming product/equipment/material to the appropriate manager/supervisor immediately.
• Promote a positive proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
• Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call‑in basis as necessary.
• Provide back‑up support for other roles as necessary.

• 2‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation principles, policies, and practices.
• Thorough working knowledge of PLC, pneumatic operated systems, schematics, one‑phase, three‑phase motors, and all aspects of conveyor feeding and packaging.
• Ability to perform projects independently and complete work in a timely fashion.
• Experience with AC/DC electrical systems, calibrated measuring instruments, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, among others.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, charts, schematics, and documents.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to perform predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Self‑starter with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the food industry preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period.
