Compensation: $115,000 to $135,000 plus bonus (based on education and experience)

About the RoleA well-established national snack food manufacturer operating over 10 facilities across North America is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and improve maintenance operations within an assigned department at its one million square foot Chicago production facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can coach a team, drive preventive maintenance, and keep high-speed automated equipment running at peak performance.
The facility produces a wide variety of snack products across a mix of modern automated and legacy equipment. The right person brings strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals, a floor-first leadership style, and the ability to develop a team while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
What You Will Be Doing- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10 to 12 maintenance mechanics and electricians with hands-on guidance and training
- Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Lead troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues to keep production running smoothly
- Oversee workforce planning and scheduling including hiring, training, and employee development
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Collaborate with production teams and participate in capital projects to drive efficiency and reliability improvements
- 5 or more years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- BS/BA or AAS degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required with relevant certifications or equivalent maintenance supervision experience accepted
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing manufacturing equipment
- Ability to train and coach mechanics on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
- PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Food, consumer goods, or high-speed packaging experience is a plus
