Maintenance Director
A skilled nursing facility in the Little Village area of Chicago is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and physical plant operations of the facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable maintenance professional who understands the unique operational and regulatory requirements of a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and physical plant operations for the facility.
- Ensure the building, grounds, equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems are properly maintained.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
- Ensure the facility remains compliant with applicable healthcare, life-safety, fire, building, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare the facility for regulatory surveys and inspections and address identified deficiencies.
- Monitor and maintain fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency power, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other critical systems.
Experience
Required:
- 3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, hospital, assisted living, senior living, or other healthcare environment.
- Previous experience working with building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general facility repairs.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and life-safety requirements.
