The Parish Facilities Assistant/Maintenance Worker supports and promotes initiatives and decisions that fulfill the mission and operations of the Parish.

This includes both Parish campuses. Including church buildings, schools, rectories and all grounds.

This role shares responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the physical plant and makes sure the building,and grounds aremaintainedin such a way as to provide a high quality and safe environment for parishioners, students, faculty, staff, and visitors to our campus.

Working withthe Director of Operations, and other facilities personnel, the Facilities Assist antis responsible forthe maintenance and proper performance of the key mechanical systems (HVAC, Lighting, fire,plumbing and security).Other duties include,cleaning, trash removal, routine electrical and plumbing repairs, installation of AV equipment and computer wiring, snow removal, and performing some janitorial tasks, including events set up.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on responsibility for maintenance and proper performance of the Campus’s primary mechanical systems (HVAC, alarm, and security systems), routine electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Manages and keeps abreast of current trends and best practices for all aspects of facilities and property management, pneumatics, HVAC design, energy and environmental practices, life safety codes (including OSHA), fire protection, disaster preparedness, elevators, building structure integrity.
• Identifies and escalates facilities issues with suggested solutions.
• Handles emergencieseffectivelyandtimelyrelated to parish facilities and grounds.
• Assures that maintenance logs are current,accurate and address identifiable problems.
• Supports the policies and procedures for regulatory compliance mandated on all levels of government licensing and/or civic responsibilities.
  
  Assistin the inspections related to the work.
• Sample maintenance tasks are sweeps,dusts, mops,strips, waxes, andvacuumsfloors. Removes trash from offices and all work areas. Cleans restrooms andreplenishessupplies. Operate snow removal equipment.

Mechanical Systems

• Conduct Emergency light/Fire Alarm System monthly testing.
• Assist with routine HVAC maintenance.
• Replace light bulbs,air filters when needed.
• Install computer cabling fordesk-topand wireless applications, or support outside vendor.
• Install projectors, smart boards, etc.

Completes minor repairs in designated buildings, including:

• Painting and minor carpentry.
• Minortuckpointingand repair of stonework.

Additional Duties

• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Setup and takedown of tables, chairs, and equipment for events
• Snow removal
• Lawn Mowing
• Participates in staff meetings and inmeetingrelated to facilities and grounds, including those not during regular work hours as needed.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with all with whom they interact.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Possession of high school diploma/GED paired with all current licenses as required by federal, state, and local regulations for this position.
