Job Summary:

The Custodian is responsible for providing a clean, safe, healthy, and well-maintained environment that supports the educational programs of the Cooperative. Responsibilities include custodial services, minor building maintenance, event setup, grounds maintenance, and ensuring facilities comply with health, safety, and accessibility standards. The Custodian works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, maintenance personnel, and support staff to maintain facilities that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required;
Previous custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred;
Working knowledge of custodial equipment, cleaning methods, and building maintenance practices;
Ability to safely lift, move, push, and carry up to 50 pounds;
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and perform physical labor throughout the workday;
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments;
Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and strong work ethic;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, contractors, and the public;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Valid Illinois driver's license preferred;
Successful completion of all required background checks.

Salary Information:
